COLUMBUS — OH.io Ventures Holding Inc. has named technology veteran Kevin Pohmer its chief business officer, the Columbus enterprise announced Monday.
Pohmer most recently served as president of the Hexure insurance platform. OH.io was launched in February by entrepreneur and Ohio State University benefactor Ratmir Timashev, the founder of Aelita Software and Veeam Software, who has committed to invest $100 million of his own money in 100 local startups over the next five years.
The venture platform aims to accelerate AI and software startups by supplying marketing and sales expertise to help young companies find customers and grow revenue. "The No. 1 problem founders have is to build a go-to-market strategy," Timashev said. Pohmer added that the hardest thing for software startups is selling their product into the market — "our vision is to give them a go-to-market engine in order to scale."
Pohmer, a New York native who earned an MBA from Ohio State, settled in central Ohio two decades ago. Timashev said Pohmer "knows what it takes to build real revenue" and shares OH.io's vision of turning Columbus into the next tech hub.
