COLUMBUS — A 40-year-old man died in an early-morning stabbing on Columbus' North Side over the weekend, and the man accused of killing him was arrested hours later in southeast Ohio, police said.
Officers responding around 12:35 a.m. Saturday to the area of Cleveland and Reynolds avenues found Brandon Parsons, 40, who appeared to have been stabbed. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died at 1:15 a.m., according to a Columbus Division of Police press release.
About 11 hours later, at 11:35 a.m., police arrested Jacob Iams, 43, in Logan in Hocking County. Court records show Iams has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing.
Police have not released details about what led to the stabbing. Columbus police are asking anyone with information to contact the Columbus police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
The arrest brought a quick resolution to the weekend investigation after officers spent the morning processing the scene on the North Side. Iams was being held pending further court proceedings, according to court records.
