Pedestrian killed, driver hospitalized in Mt. Healthy crash Monday

MT. HEALTHY — A pedestrian was killed and a driver was hospitalized after a vehicle collision in Mt. Healthy on Monday morning, according to the Mt. Healthy Police Department.

Police responded to Hamilton Avenue near Cross County Highway at about 11:30 a.m. Monday after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Police have not released the identities of the pedestrian or the driver, and the cause of the collision has not yet been determined.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is assisting Mt. Healthy police with the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about it to contact the department's Traffic Safety Unit at 513-825-1500.

The collision closed traffic on one of Mt. Healthy's busiest corridors during the late-morning hours. Officials said the investigation is ongoing and more details are expected to be released as they become available.
